Enabling spell checker in Linux

Spell checker not working is  one of the common problems faced by new Linux enthusiastic. Reason for problem  is hunspell pakage not installed

Arch Linux

sudo pacman -S  hunspell hunspell-en

sudo pacman -S hunspell-<Your language code>

Ubuntu / Debian

sudo apt-get install  hunspell hunspell-en

sudo apt-get install hunspell-<Your language code>


For LibreOffice:

Then enable the Writing aids by selecting the check-box in Tools -> Options -> Language Settings -> Writing Aids -> Hunspell SpellChecker.
